Australia's Qantas airline is launching the Sydney-London route under the long-awaited "Project Sunrise".
According to Euronews, the world's longest non-stop passenger flight is scheduled for October 2027. Covering over 16,000 kilometers, the flight will connect the two cities without any stops. The journey will take between 19 and 22 hours.
As part of Project Sunrise, the Sydney-New York route has also been confirmed, with dates to be announced next year. Qantas has already introduced the first specially upgraded Airbus A350-1000ULR aircraft for the Sydney-London service.
Currently, the longest non-stop flight is Singapore Airlines' Singapore-New York route: 15,349 km in under 19 hours.
