New allowances and privileges have been established for diplomats called to military service.
According to Oxu.Az citing President.az, this is reflected in the new Articles 13.14-1 and 13.14-2 added to the Law "On Diplomatic Service," which were signed by President Ilham Aliyev.
Under the law, a diplomatic service employee whose service is terminated due to being called for compulsory military or alternative service will receive an allowance equal to three times their average monthly state salary.
Except in cases of dissolution of the diplomatic service body, persons who served in a diplomatic position before being called to active military service may apply for reinstatement to their previous diplomatic position within 60 calendar days after release from military service. They will then be appointed to their previous or equivalent position.
