Nvidia's CEO said the company plans to invest around $150 billion a year in Taiwan, calling it the 'epicenter' of the AI revolution.
Jensen Huang announced at a launch celebration in Taipei that spending has grown from $10-15 billion to $100-150 billion per year.
The new Taiwan headquarters will break ground this year and aims to be operational in 2030. Huang did not specify how many years the $150 billion investment will last.
The headquarters will bring Nvidia closer to TSMC, the world's largest contract chipmaker and a key AI chip supplier.
Huang emphasized Taiwan's role as the epicenter of the AI revolution, where chips, packaging, and AI supercomputers are made.
Last year, Nvidia became the first company to reach $5 trillion in market value. Huang said it will be worth even more in three to five years.
