Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing will fly to India on Saturday for an official visit, his first overseas trip since taking the civilian role.
The five-day trip includes talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aimed at re-engaging regionally after years of isolation following the 2021 coup.
Analysts say the visit is an opportunity for India to dilute China's influence in Myanmar and secure access to rare earth deposits.
Myanmar's presidential office declined to comment, but India's foreign ministry said all bilateral issues will be discussed.
The visit comes as Myanmar's military launches offensives in border areas rich in rare earths and trade routes to India.
Experts note that Myanmar seeks India's help against rebel groups, while India wants resources and business ties.
