Due to the anomalous heatwave gripping Europe, the air conditioning system at the European Commission's headquarters in Brussels has been partially shut down.
According to Politico, on Friday, employees working on floors 1 to 7 were notified that cooling would be suspended until the end of the day due to extreme weather conditions.
However, air conditioning continues to operate on the 13th floor, where the offices of Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and EU commissioners are located. This week, the European Parliament also experienced power outages due to increased energy consumption from cooling systems.
