All of Britain's nuclear submarines are out of service and in need of maintenance, according to sources cited by The Telegraph.
The entire fleet of operational nuclear submarines is currently docked at Royal Navy bases. Five British Astute-class submarines are awaiting technical service and repairs. The sixth newly commissioned submarine is not yet ready for missions.
New Dreadnought-class submarines will not enter service for many years.
Earlier, First Sea Lord Admiral Sir Ben Key said the Royal Navy spends about a third of its operational time countering the "Russian threat."
