Heavy rains on May 29-30 in Dagestan caused damage. A 100-meter-long gabion dam at the entrance of Akhty village collapsed.

A gabion dam is a protective structure made of galvanized wire mesh boxes filled with stones. Another 100-meter section is at risk of collapse.

According to reports, the river water level has risen sharply and continues to increase. If the situation worsens, coastal areas, farmland, private houses, gas pipelines, power lines, and the republican highway could be flooded.

The Republican Ministry of Emergency Situations stated that there is no direct threat to the road or residents yet. The district head and emergency workers are operating in the area.
