Hungary's parliament has approved constitutional amendments limiting the prime minister's tenure to two terms.
The measure is retroactive and applies to all politicians who have held the post since 1990.
This was reported by Oxu.Az citing RIA Novosti.
The initiative came from representatives of the ruling "Tisa" party. The document was supported by 135 deputies from the ruling faction.
Previously ruling "Fidesz" and the Christian Democratic People's Party's 50 parliamentarians voted against, while six representatives of "Our Homeland" party abstained.
In May, Hungary's new Prime Minister Peter Magyar announced that the term limit for the head of government would be introduced.
