Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev has suggested that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan could lose his position due to gas price issues.
On his "Max" channel, Medvedev wrote: "Those who try to sit on two chairs risk falling painfully to the ground. Apparently, a man nicknamed Nikol plans to do exactly that in the near future."
He noted that Armenia seeks to maintain benefits from the Eurasian Economic Union while deepening ties with the European Union. Medvedev stressed that such a policy is doomed to fail.
"Armenia receives Russian gas at $177.5 per 1,000 cubic meters, while European prices range from $570 to $590. If gas prices shift to European levels, the Armenian people might chase Pashinyan away," Medvedev said.
