Cuba nearly doubled gasoline and diesel prices on Friday, but filling stations remain closed due to a U.S. oil blockade.
The Ministry of Finance said the price hike reflects the actual cost of importing fuel.
In Havana, premium gasoline rose to $2.00 per liter, regular to $1.80, and diesel to $2.00.
However, stations are closed and the government hasn't said when fuel will be available.
Motorists, who have gone months without fuel, expressed frustration.
Black market prices have soared to $8-$10 per liter.
