Trial of clinic director over Yasamal fire starts

The trial of Bahruz Pashayev, director of the clinic that caused 3 deaths in Yasamal, begins. The criminal case has been sent to the Baku Court of Serious Crimes.

The preliminary investigation into the criminal case of Bahruz Pashayev, director of the "Loft Dent" clinic, who was detained in connection with the death of 3 people in a multi-story building in Yasamal, has been completed.

According to Oxu.Az citing "Unikal", the criminal case has been sent to the Baku Court of Serious Crimes. The case has been assigned to Judge Babak Panahov.

The date of the trial is not yet known.

It is recalled that the fire occurred on November 21 in a multi-story residential building on Mirali Seyidov Street, Yasamal district, Baku.

During the incident, Arzu Gambarli (born 2018), Samir Mammadov (born 1983), and Konul Humbatova (born 1977) died from smoke poisoning. Additionally, 25 people were poisoned by smoke.

A criminal case was initiated by the General Prosecutor's Office under the relevant article of the Criminal Code, and a preliminary investigation was conducted.

On November 23, Bahruz Pashayev, the legal representative and director of "TAXES GROUP" LLC (Loft Clinic), which had rented the non-residential premises in the basement and first floor of the building where the incident occurred, was detained as a suspect.

On November 24, he was charged under Articles 225.3 (violation of fire safety rules resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence) and 314.3 (negligence resulting in the death of two or more persons) of the Criminal Code and was brought in as an accused.
