Birbank, the country's first digital bank, is expanding its inclusive services for customers with hearing and speech impairments. After introducing sign language video call service in its mobile app last year, the service is now available in selected branches.
Currently, sign language service is available at Birbank's Absheron, Qara Qarayev, Sahil, Binagadi, Genclik Mall branches in Baku and Ganja branch. Nearly 20 employees have completed special training to communicate directly with customers.
Last year, Birbank was the first in Azerbaijan to offer sign language video calls in its mobile app under the "Barrier-Free Banking" project. With the expansion, nearly 3,000 customers with hearing and speech impairments can now access services via digital channels and physical branches.
The initiative aims to make financial services accessible to everyone and contribute to inclusive banking. More branches are planned to offer sign language service in the future.
As a brand of Kapital Bank, Birbank serves over 3 million active users through 114 branches and 52 departments. For more information, visit birbank.az, call 196, or follow on social media.
