On June 8, the 10th trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Georgia will be held in Istanbul.
According to sources in the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, cited by Anadolu Agency, the meeting will be hosted by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. His Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov and Georgian counterpart Maka Bochorishvili will attend.
The meeting will review existing cooperation between the three countries and discuss joint activities for the upcoming period.
Key agenda items include regional processes, foreign policy issues, cooperation in the South Caucasus, transport, strengthening regional transit networks, energy security, and deepening trade and economic cooperation.
Minister Fidan will emphasize the increased strategic importance of the South Caucasus amid geopolitical uncertainties, economic fragilities, and security threats. He will highlight the growing significance of the Middle Corridor for connectivity between Europe and Asia, against the backdrop of transformation in global supply chains and shifting geopolitical dynamics. Priorities include strengthening regional transport projects, notably the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line, and developing logistics networks.
The first meeting in this format took place on June 8, 2012, in Trabzon, Turkey, and the last one on March 15, 2024, in Baku.
