Tension is rising at the '8th Kilometer Market' in Baku's Nizami district. Sellers who have operated there for years have been ordered to leave the area.
The traders claim they have been selling at this location for 20-25 years but were recently instructed to vacate by authorities. They complain that no alternative locations were offered, causing financial hardship.
Elbrus Ibrahimov from the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that street trading in unauthorized areas is illegal. It leads to sidewalk occupation, pedestrian movement restrictions, and unsanitary conditions.
Police regularly conduct preventive measures to combat such illegal activities.
