Israeli Officer Killed in South Lebanon

An Israeli officer was killed in a clash with a Hezbollah member in southern Lebanon overnight.

According to reports, the officer was 21-year-old David Hazut, a platoon commander in the Golani Brigade's 12th Battalion.

The clash occurred when soldiers entered a building in the village of Deir Sirian. Another soldier was lightly injured.

The injured soldier was taken to hospital for treatment.
