Three Latvian climbers fell to their deaths on Mount McKinley in Alaska's Denali National Park. A fourth team member survived and was rescued.

The National Park Service reported that four climbers from a seven-member expedition fell near Denali Pass, about 2,100 feet below the 20,310-foot summit.

The survivor was rescued Thursday from a basin at 17,200 feet and airlifted to a hospital.

The Latvian Mountaineering Association identified the deceased as Inese Puceka, Vija Olte, and Renars Kunigs-Salaks. A fourth climber, Mārtiņš Bilzēns, is in critical condition.

The three uninjured members returned to camp and plan to descend with rescue assistance.

The mountain, historically called McKinley, was officially renamed Denali in 2015 but reverted to McKinley under the Trump administration.
