All five Italian divers who died while exploring an underwater cave in the Maldives have been found.

According to Oxu.Az, this was reported by representatives of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press statement.

Local military divers, supported by Finnish experts, discovered the bodies in an area known as "Shark Cave," at a depth of about 60 meters. Initially, three bodies were recovered, and the search operation was completed on Wednesday.

Official information about the death of five Italian citizens was first released on May 15. The exact cause of the incident remains unclear. Investigators and experts from Rome are now analyzing footage from the victims' underwater cameras to determine the details of the tragedy.

The group that died included Monia Montefalkone, a professor of marine biology at the University of Genoa, her 22-year-old daughter, two young researchers, and a diving instructor. According to reports, the boat that transported them to the dive site also carried 20 other Italian passengers.
