New details have emerged regarding the crash of a US Air Force B-52 Stratofortress strategic bomber in California. It has been revealed that two employees of Boeing, the aerospace corporation, were on board the aircraft at the time of the accident.
The incident occurred shortly after takeoff from Edwards Air Force Base. While the cause of the crash is still under investigation, rescue operations are ongoing. Boeing has declined to comment on the specific roles of its employees on the bomber.
The B-52 Stratofortress, designed by Boeing, has been in service since 1955. It is capable of delivering nuclear and conventional payloads over long distances, with a crew of five and a range exceeding 14,000 km without refueling.
