The family of Claude Lemieux, a Canadian hockey player who died a few days ago, will donate his brain to Boston University scientists to study chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).
They hope this will help protect athletes' health in the future.
Oxu.Az reports, citing the Associated Press.
The 60-year-old former hockey player's body was found by his son in a storage building. His death was announced on May 28.
CTE is a degenerative brain disease caused by repeated concussions and head injuries.
