Ford Motor Company is recalling approximately 420,000 vehicles in the United States due to a seatbelt defect.

According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recall affects 2018-2022 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator models.

The issue involves seatbelt pretensioners that may lock and prevent proper extension or retraction, increasing injury risk in a crash.

Dealers will inspect and replace faulty pretensioners at no cost.

Ford shares fell 0.6% on May 3, while the company's market cap has risen 23% since the start of the year to $66.27 billion.
