US President Donald Trump stated that transgender individuals who are biologically male should not participate in women's sports competitions.
According to Oxu.Az, this was reported by TASS agency.
Speaking on economic issues near Allentown, Pennsylvania, Trump said: "A man comes in, he's changed his gender. He was last in the male weightlifting rankings, but now competes as a female weightlifter. He lifts 210 pounds. That's huge for a woman, but not for a man who can lift it with one hand."
Trump demonstrated a gesture describing the athlete lifting the weight with both hands: "He won, and everyone said it was great. Have we lost our minds? Men should not compete in women's sports."
Recall that in March, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) banned transgender athletes from women's events, later clarifying that they can compete in categories matching their biological sex.
