The International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) Board of Governors has adopted a resolution calling on Iran to fully cooperate with the agency, including on the issue of highly enriched uranium stocks.
According to Oxu.Az, the draft resolution was submitted by France, Britain, Germany, and the United States. 21 countries voted in favor, 10 abstained, while Russia, China, and Niger voted against.
The document states that Iran must provide complete information to the IAEA about its nuclear materials, which are close to weapons-grade, and ensure access for agency inspectors to its nuclear facilities. This is necessary to verify that nuclear materials are not being diverted from peaceful uses.
Iran's permanent mission to the UN in Vienna criticized the resolution, calling it “political.” Tehran has stated its determination to defend its “inalienable rights.”
