Qatar's Prime Minister's advisor and official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majid bin Mohammed al-Ansari, has denied reports that Doha offered Tehran $12 billion to reach an agreement with Washington.
According to Oxu.Az, he posted on his X account: "The claims that Qatar offered Iran $12 billion to secure an agreement are false. Such rumors are spread by parties seeking to undermine the US-Iran agreement and disrupt diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and strengthening stability in the region."
It is recalled that on Monday, an Iranian delegation led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi visited Doha for consultations with Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani regarding a potential deal with the US. According to Reuters, the delegation included the head of the Central Bank to discuss the unfreezing of Iranian assets.
