A simple dietary supplement may be an effective and safe way to achieve emotional stability and reduce aggression.
According to Oxu.Az, a new study by scientists at the University of Pennsylvania was published in the journal "Aggression and Violent Behavior."
Researchers conducted a meta-analysis combining data from 29 studies conducted in various countries between 1996 and 2024. A total of 3,918 participants from different age groups were included. Results showed that regular intake of omega-3 fatty acids over 16 weeks reduced aggression levels by an average of 28%.
This effect is due to omega-3's crucial role in brain biochemistry and nerve cell structure. These fatty acids are the main building material of nerve cell membranes and reduce inflammatory processes in the brain. They also ensure more efficient transmission of signals responsible for regulating emotions between neurons.
Interestingly, the effect was equally observed in both reactive aggression (immediate reactions and emotional outbursts) and proactive aggression (planned and purposeful hostility).
