A rare apple displayed in a store in Christchurch, New Zealand, has captivated locals.
According to UPI, one side of the fruit is red, and the other is yellow. The apple is perfectly divided into two distinct colors.
Experts say this is due to a genetic mutation called a 'chimera,' where the fruit develops from two different genetic cell lines. Such occurrences are rarer than one in a million.
The store owner says the apple has become a local attraction.
