Lithuania is negotiating with the United States to deploy nuclear weapons on its territory.
According to Oxu.Az citing Politico, the country's Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas made the announcement.
"Discussions are ongoing. Lithuania is not standing aside," the minister told journalists.
Lithuania's constitution currently bans the deployment of weapons of mass destruction on its soil.
Parliament Speaker Yuozas Olekas did not rule out amendments to this provision.
President Gitanas Nauseda has supported discussions on possible changes to allow nuclear weapon deployment.
