High-level security measures have been launched in Turkey under the "Turquoise Operation" plan for the upcoming NATO summit.
According to the Ankara City Police Department, entry-exit checks have been intensified and control measures have been stepped up in 9 districts.
Special forces, patrol police, and plainclothes officers have been deployed along routes. Hotels and establishments expecting tourists and delegations have been inspected.
No concessions are made to beggars, illegal parking attendants, or touts. Special operations are targeting long-wanted individuals.
In 9 districts, 215 points, 151 parks, and 120 establishments were checked by 39 groups and 450 personnel. 209 suspects have been detained.
The NATO summit will be held on July 7-8 in Ankara.
