The United States does not intend to reduce its military contingent in Poland. On the contrary, discussions are underway to increase the number of forces.
Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated at a briefing that there is no reduction in the number of US troops in Poland. He emphasized that efforts are being made to increase the figure.
Kosiniak-Kamysz highlighted that Washington's decision to cancel the deployment of 4,000 troops to Poland is related to the reorganization of US forces in Europe. He and the Chief of the General Staff, Wiesław Kukuła, have already discussed the issue with Pentagon leadership.
The minister added that Washington has not yet made a final decision on expanding military presence in Poland. Currently, about 10,000 US troops serve in Poland on both permanent and rotational basis.
