Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport continues its investigation into the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) Embraer 190 near Aktau on December 25, 2024. The ministry has confirmed that a final report will be published after the probe concludes.
In a statement to TASS, officials said the commission is working in accordance with Annex 13 of the International Civil Aviation Convention. The final document will detail the causes, conclusions, and recommendations of the investigation. It will be released on the official website of the Ministry of Transport.
The aircraft was en route from Baku to Grozny with 67 people on board, including 5 crew members. Passengers were citizens of Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. 29 people survived. The black boxes were opened in Brazil, and the data was sent to Kazakhstan. A preliminary report published in February included a timeline of events and photos of damage.
