Starting today, the procedure for receiving temporary disability benefits is going digital. All documents will be submitted electronically and transmitted to the centralized information system of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.

Eligibility requires at least six months of social insurance coverage. Payments will start from the first day of illness and continue until recovery, but for a maximum of one year.

Under the new rules, the first 14 calendar days of illness are paid by the employer, while the remaining days are covered by the state social insurance fund. If the illness is continuous, the employer pays only once for the first 14 days.

Special provisions apply to those with multiple jobs. For employees with additional paid work, benefits for the first 14 days are calculated separately for each workplace; for the remaining days, total earnings are considered.

The maximum monthly benefit cannot exceed 25 times the minimum pension or twice the monthly salary, whichever is lower. Regardless of insurance tenure, 100% of average earnings is paid.
