On May 1, 2026, several major streets and avenues in Baku are experiencing heavy traffic congestion. According to the Intelligent Traffic Management Center (ITMC) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the following routes face delays:
Heydar Aliyev Avenue, particularly the auxiliary road towards the city center, is congested. Traffic on November 8 Avenue is slow from the intersection with Suleyman Ahmadov Street heading to the center.
The Baku-Sumgayit highway near “20 Yanvar” metro station is jammed. On the 1st Göl kenarı road, vehicles move slowly towards Ziya Bunyadov Avenue.
The intersection of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue and Muzaffar Narimanov Street leading to “20 Yanvar” metro station, as well as Tbilisi Avenue from the same metro to the city center, are heavy with traffic.
Ali Mustafayev Street towards Ziya Bunyadov Avenue and Abdulvahab Salamzade Street in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue are also congested.
