Iran, the United States, and mediator Pakistan all said on Saturday that progress had been made in talks to end nearly three months of war.
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and chief negotiator Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf met Pakistan's army chief Asim Munir, focusing on finalizing a memorandum of understanding.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, visiting India, also noted progress and said the U.S. might have an announcement in the coming days.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said disputes have reduced this week, but issues remain to be discussed through mediators.
The talks center on a 14-point document proposed by Iran. Pakistan's mediation aims to ease tensions over the Strait of Hormuz closure and global energy markets.
Rubio reiterated Trump's demands: Iran must never have a nuclear weapon, the straits must be open without tolls, and enriched uranium must be handed over.
