The court hearing for the teenager who shot a teacher at the "Idrak" Lyceum in Baku has been held.
At the session chaired by judge Vugar Guliyev at the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, lawyers requested house arrest for their client and a closed trial. The opposing side did not object, but the judges denied the requests.
The next hearing is scheduled for July 1.
The incident occurred on February 6 at the "Idrak" Lyceum in the Binagadi district. According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the student opened fire with a firearm, injuring the teacher. The student was detained and on February 7, a court ordered his arrest for 4 months.
A criminal case has been initiated by the Binagadi District Prosecutor's Office. The teenager is charged under Article 29, 120.2.2 (attempted murder with hooligan motives) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
