Based on a request from the Prosecutor General's Office, a Montenegrin court has approved the extradition.
According to Oxu.Az, the Prosecutor's Office released information on the matter.
It was reported that after the request from the Prosecutor General's Office to the Ministry of Justice of Montenegro and the submission of required documents in accordance with international procedures, negotiations led to the Podgorica High Court approving the simplified extradition of Azerbaijani citizen Hidayat Nemat oglu Suleymanov to Azerbaijan.
In a criminal case investigated by the Sumgayit City Police Department, substantial suspicions were established that Hidayat Suleymanov, with the intent to seize property through abuse of trust and deception, presented himself as an official, falsely promised to build a house on the victim's mother's land and handle all matters including permits from state authorities, thereby causing significant damage to the victim through fraud.
Consequently, a decision was made to charge Hidayat Suleymanov with fraud, and as he evaded investigation and went into hiding, an international search was initiated through the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Baku. As a result of operational search measures, he was identified and detained in Montenegro.
Currently, measures are being taken by the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice to bring Hidayat Suleymanov to Azerbaijan.
