Today is the birthday of People's Artist Hajibaba Baghirov.
According to Oxu.Az, Hajibaba Agharza oglu Baghirov was born on June 12, 1932, in Baku to a working-class family.
From a young age, he showed great interest in theater. After finishing secondary school in 1947, he entered the actor studio at the Azerbaijan State Academic Drama Theater.
In 1950, he began his independent creative activity at the Lankaran State Drama Theater.
In 1953, he graduated from the Azerbaijan Railway School and worked as an assistant driver at the Bilajari depot.
In 1960, he was accepted into the actor troupe of the Ganja State Drama Theater named after J. Jabbarly.
In 1962, he was invited to the Musical Comedy Theater. Over 26 years, he created more than 50 roles.
In 1974, he was awarded the title of Honored Artist, and in 1982, People's Artist.
In 1998, he was awarded the Order of Glory.
Hajibaba Baghirov passed away on October 6, 2006. He is buried in the Second Alley of Honor.
