Today, at the Heydar Aliyev Palace, the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater presented another performance of the great composer Uzeyir Hajibeyov's opera "Koroglu".
The conductor was Honored Artist Ayub Guliyev, and the stage director was Honored Art Worker Hafiz Guliyev. Set designers were USSR People's Artist Tahir Salahov and Honored Culture Worker Tehran Babayev, choreographer USSR People's Artist Gamar Almaszadeh, and choirmaster Honored Art Worker Sevil Hajieva.
People's Artist Yusif Eyvazov performed the role of Koroglu (Rovshan), and Honored Artist Afag Abbasova performed as Nigar. Yusif Eyvazov noted: "Koroglu is a very complex role. It's my second time, but I will feel it after 30 performances. Performing at home requires more responsibility."
Afag Abbasova said: "It's a great happiness to appear as Nigar in the masterpiece of Uzeyir bey. It's the result of months of rehearsals."
The cast included Mahir Taghizade as Hasan khan (debut), Fahmin Ahmadli as Ehsan pasha, Nazim Mahmudov as Ibrahim khan, Tural Agasiyev as Hamza bey, Akram Poladov as Ali, Aliahmad Ibrahimov as the Clown, Mirali Sarizada as Polad (debut), Nazar Baylarov as Eyvaz, Nazakat Teymurova as the Khanende girl, Muhammad Shammadov and Javidan Isayev as nobles, and Aliahmad Ibrahimov also as the Crier.
