Bond.az reports that the Trump administration's immigration enforcement surge last year resulted in an estimated 668,000 job losses, according to a Brookings Institution study.
The research examined 86 cities with increased ICE arrests. Roughly 13 jobs were lost per additional arrest.
Construction and other industries employing many undocumented workers saw major declines. Sectors like arts and entertainment also lost jobs.
U.S.-born workers were affected: between 51,000 and 297,000 lost jobs were held by native-born employees.
Consumer spending dropped in immigrant-heavy communities. In Los Angeles, spending fell by up to 25% in some neighborhoods.
The White House declined to comment.
