Bond.az - U.S. Central Command said Monday it struck Iranian radar and command sites over the weekend, with Iran's Revolutionary Guard claiming it attacked a U.S. base in retaliation.

CENTCOM stated the strikes targeted Goruk and Qeshm island, calling them self-defense after the downing of a U.S. drone. This was the third such U.S. attack in the past week.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) separately said it struck a U.S. base used to stage attacks on southern Iran. Kuwait reported intercepting missiles and drones.

The exchange strains a fragile ceasefire, with oil prices rising sharply amid ongoing tensions and negotiations stalling.
