On May 18, Bolt organized the first Azerbaijani Security Conference at Sea Breeze Resort.
The event brought together representatives from government agencies, including the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA), AZCON, Ministry of Economy and Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA), driver partners, and students to discuss road safety and the development of safety standards.
The main goal of the conference was to raise awareness on road safety in Azerbaijan, strengthen cooperation between public and private sectors, and contribute to the development of safe mobility standards.
Moderators were Yuliya Malich, Regional Public Affairs Manager at Bolt, and Salman Babazade, Senior Manager for Bolt for Business.
Opening remarks were made by Tom Tuksworth, Director of Public Affairs at Bolt, who highlighted the company's initiatives in safety and compliance.
He also touched on safety solutions implemented in Azerbaijan: every ride begins with a driver selfie verification, all trips are tracked in real time, and an in-app SOS function is available for both drivers and passengers.
According to Bolt, 99.9% of trips on the platform are completed without any safety incidents. Approximately half of passengers use the trip sharing feature, over 400,000 users have activated the "trusted contacts" function, and the use of audio ride recording has increased by over 40%.
Vusal Rajabli, President of the Azerbaijan National Automobile Club (AMAK), emphasized the importance of road safety culture, driver behavior, and education. Samir Aliyev, System Director at AZCON, discussed current challenges in road safety.
The conference also featured a session titled "Safety in Global Platforms" with Bolt representative Catherine Mercer, female driver Gulnaz Kazimzade, Maarifa Pashayeva, Deputy Chair of the AmCham Supply Committee, and Vusal Rajabli.
Maarifa Pashayeva informed about Bolt's "Video Surveillance" safety solution, which allows passengers to share a 360-degree video of the ride with their loved ones in real time, while a dedicated safety team monitors trips and responds promptly to emergencies.
During the conference, a memorandum was signed between Ilkin Zeynalli, General Manager of Bolt Azerbaijan, and Orkhan Abbasov, Board Member of Sabah.Hub Innovation Center. The cooperation will focus on joint initiatives in innovation, education, and safety.
Driver partners who provided the most professional and safest service in 2025 were awarded under the "Bolt Academy" program. Additionally, students who actively participated in an inter-university competition on road safety received certificates and gifts.
