The "Healthy Colleague" mini-football tournament has been launched by the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (ATUC) and its subordinate organization, the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Sports Organizations Association (ATUSOA).
The competition, held among teams of ATUC member organizations, began with the playing of the Azerbaijani national anthem, followed by a minute of silence in memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, ATUC Deputy Chairman Gazanfar Abdullayev highlighted the sports policy set by great leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued by the President. He spoke about the development of physical education and sports, the creation of modern sports infrastructure, and the wide opportunities for athletes. He emphasized that Azerbaijan is currently one of the world's leading sports centers, successfully hosting prestigious international sports events.
The Deputy Chairman noted that the "Healthy Colleague" mini-football tournament aims to promote a healthy lifestyle, strengthen collective solidarity and team spirit, and organize leisure time effectively.
Exemplary sports performances were demonstrated by athletes from ATUSOA sports units during the event.
Then the first games of the tournament started. A total of 17 teams compete in 4 groups.
The tournament will conclude with the final game on July 10.
