On May 22, 2026, the kelaghayi-festival" class="internal-tag-link">III Kelaghayi Festival was held at the amphitheater of Heydar Aliyev Park in Khatai District. The event was organized by the Baku City Main Culture Department, Khatai District Executive Authority, and the Western Azerbaijan Community within the framework of the Year of Urban Planning and Architecture.
The festival was attended by Rafig Guluyev, head of Khatai District Executive Authority; Ramil Mirzayev, chairman of YAP Khatai district organization; MPs Ali Huseynli and Vugar Rahimzade; head of the Western Azerbaijan Community Aziz Alakbarli; public figures; famous singers; ashiks; poets; mothers of martyrs; and local residents.
Speakers emphasized the cultural significance of kelaghayi and the need to introduce it to younger generations. The exhibition featured 200 ancient kelaghayi from the "Kelaghayi House-Museum," decorative arts, and books. Kelaghayi from Sheki and Basgal masters were also displayed and sold.
Notably, kelaghayi was inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2014. The III Festival marks the continuation of the series that began after the 10th anniversary of this event.
The goal is to preserve national values and pass them to future generations.
