Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU) hosted the closing ceremony of the "Victory Festival - 3" sports competition. The festival brought together over 900 participants from more than 30 higher education institutions.
The event was dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev and May 28 - Independence Day. AMU rector Professor Geray Geraybeyli highlighted the significance of the festival.
He noted that the state youth policy laid by Heydar Aliyev is successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev. Significant achievements have been made in sports development and promoting a healthy lifestyle among youth.
The festival featured competitions in chess, checkers, backgammon, volleyball, table tennis, tug of war, archery, and 3x3 basketball. The AMU team secured first place with 8 gold medals.
Azerbaijan State University of Economics came second, while Azerbaijan University of Languages and Baku Music Academy shared third place. Winners were awarded cups, diplomas, and medals.
