Donald Trump's visit to China, previously postponed due to the Iran war, finally took place.
Political analyst Natig Miri told Oxu.Az that one of the main topics was the problems in US-China relations.
After returning to power, Trump imposed additional tariffs on China, which alarmed Beijing. China responded with similar measures. The trade disputes between these two hegemonic powers affect global politics.
The US president brought the world's richest businessmen to the Chinese capital. Negotiations achieved positive progress.
Another topic was the US-Iran conflict. China and the US agreed on two issues: opening the Strait of Hormuz and preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
Trump discussed with Xi Jinping reducing China's arms sales to Iran. Xi promised to do so. An agreement was also reached on the Taiwan issue.
Trump proposed that China stop buying Iranian oil. China could source oil from other suppliers, which would lead to Iran's economic collapse.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is also expected to visit China. This visit, planned after Trump's, reflects Russia's concern.
China buys most of Russia's oil and gas. If restrictions are imposed on energy products, Russia's budget revenues will collapse.
