A 13-year-old footballer, Cristian Fabian Rondon Mendez, was stabbed to death by street thugs in Colombia.
The incident occurred in Piedecuesta. Two unknown individuals intercepted the teen returning from training with a friend and stabbed him in the chest.
Before the attack, the assailants told the boy he "didn't belong in this area." They then fled on motorcycles.
Witnesses called emergency services immediately. Despite being rushed to hospital, Mendez could not be saved.
The teen played for the youth team of local club 'Sporting' and was considered a football prodigy. His mother said: "His whole life was football. His biggest dream was to play for 'America' in Cali."
Authorities are searching for the killers and have offered a reward of 15 million Colombian pesos for information leading to their capture.
