At least eight players of the Tunisian national team have tested positive for doping during the 2026 World Cup.
According to the British newspaper Daily Mail, citing anonymous sources, the samples contained clenbuterol.
The substance is linked to meat consumed at the team's camp in Mexico. Officials believe it was not taken intentionally.
Tunisia lost all group matches: to Sweden (1:5), Japan (0:4), and the Netherlands (1:3), failing to advance.
