Figure skater Alexander Plyushchenko has been allowed to compete under the Azerbaijan flag in international competitions starting from the 2026/2027 season.
According to the Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation, the appeal sent to the International Skating Union was positively assessed, and official consent was given for the athlete to represent Azerbaijan.
The Federation will continue its efforts to develop winter sports and train local athletes, strengthening Azerbaijan's position in the international sports arena.
