In the final group stage match of the 2026 World Cup, Algeria and Austria battled to a 3-3 draw with a remarkable statistic.

According to Oxu.Az citing RBK, Opta analytics revealed that Algeria held possession for over five minutes uninterrupted before scoring their third goal.

Captain Riyad Mahrez scored in the 93rd minute after 110 passes, making it 3-2.

However, the lead lasted only three minutes. Austria's Saša Kalajdžić equalized in the 96th minute.

As a result, Austria finished second in Group J and will face Spain in the playoffs. Algeria, as one of the best third-placed teams, advanced to the Round of 16 where they will meet Switzerland.
