Azerbaijan national team head coach Aykhan Abbasov spoke at a press conference ahead of friendly matches against Malta and San Marino.
He highlighted the team's high motivation: "After a tough season, it's encouraging to see the players so eager. We aim for both good play and a positive result."
Abbasov noted the positive impact of training camps in Baku and Austria: "The players' desire gives us confidence. Even though these are friendlies, we want to win both games."
Regarding opponent selection, he said the initial plan was to play in Austria, but due to some teams declining, Malta and San Marino were chosen.
When asked about Elvin Jafarguliyev, Abbasov stated: "Elvin is motivated and will find a new club soon. He will have no game practice issues before the Nations League."
The national team will face Malta on June 5 and San Marino on June 9.
