Aykhan Abbasov, head coach of the Azerbaijan national team, spoke at a press conference after the friendly match against San Marino (2:1).
He stated that the main problem was the inability to capitalize on goal-scoring opportunities.
Abbasov noted that he made changes to the lineup to see all players on the field.
“I thank the players. After the defeat to Malta, we wanted to win. Since this was our last training camp before the Nations League, we tried to see all players. Training and matches are different, so we made changes. Again, the main problem was that we couldn't take advantage of goal chances. The tempo was normal, we built consecutive attacks. We are happy to have won,” he added.
