Azerbaijani gymnasts 11th at European Champs

Azerbaijani rhythmic gymnasts placed 11th at the European Championships in Varna, Bulgaria. Team ranked 15th, individual gymnast 32nd.

The 42nd European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships are being held in Varna, Bulgaria, from May 27 to 31.

The newly formed Azerbaijani group made its senior debut on May 30. Though it did not reach the final, the team scored 46.650 points in the all-around to place 11th among 26 teams.

In the 5 balls routine, the team scored 24.100 for 11th place; in the 3 hoops + 2 pairs of clubs, they scored 22.550 for 15th.

Based on combined individual and group results, Azerbaijan ranked 15th with 239.350 points. Individual gymnasts Fidan Gurbanli, Govhar Ibrahimova, and Kamilla Seyidzade contributed to the team score.

In the individual all-around, Fidan Gurbanli placed 32nd with 74.850 points.

Azerbaijan was also represented by juniors Azada Atakishiyeva and Nuray Muradli in individual programs, and by seniors Fidan Gurbanli, Govhar Ibrahimova, Kamilla Seyidzade, and the group.

Among juniors, Azada Atakishiyeva scored 22.450 points in the hoop routine to rank 19th.
